5 reasons to
get a pass.
Spend your time on the project instead of assembling reference lists. Here’s what a pass adds to free access.
Get every available row.
Download all records currently held in a dataset as CSV, JSON, or XML.
Access the whole catalog.
Your key works across all available datasets. You don’t pay separately for each list.
Download categories together.
Get related datasets in one ZIP, with a separate file for each list and source references in the README.
Make more API requests.
Get higher request allowances for your applications, scripts, and file downloads. See the limits for each pass.
Pay once for 365 days.
No subscription or automatic renewal. Buy another pass only when you choose.
What happens after I buy?
Your key arrives by email once payment is confirmed. Open a dataset, paste the key into the download section, and choose CSV, JSON, or XML. You can also download a category as a ZIP. No code is required.
Which pass do I need?
Choose a Data Pass for your own projects, classroom work, research, or reports used inside your business. Choose a Commercial Pass when you include the data in a product or service you sell or provide to others. This applies even if you download the data once and use a saved copy.
If you are unsure which pass to choose, ask before buying.
Do I need to write code?
No. Download CSV for a spreadsheet, or choose JSON or XML for software that uses those formats. The API is another way to access the same datasets. See the download steps.
Does the data stay current?
A complete download includes every record we currently hold for that dataset. It does not guarantee every possible record or the latest information. Check the description, preview, and sources to see what is included. A recent update date does not mean every record is current, and a pass does not include a guaranteed update schedule.
How does renewal work?
Your pass lasts 365 days. We send a reminder two weeks before it expires. To renew, buy the same pass with the same email address or enter your existing key at checkout. Your key stays the same. We never renew or charge you automatically.
I already have a Developer pass.
It is now called the Data Pass. Your existing key, expiry date, and access still work. There is nothing to change.
Are there download limits?
Individual file downloads count toward your API request allowance. Each pass key allows up to 10 category ZIP downloads per minute, with up to 64 MB of uncompressed data per ZIP. If a category exceeds that size, download its datasets individually. Neither pass allows bulk redistribution as a competing data service.
