Good to know

Before you use it

  • Empty means USDA withheld the figure to avoid disclosing individual farms. Zero means no farm in the county reported it.
  • Dollar figures are for the 2022 calendar year. Livestock counts are inventories on December 31, 2022, except BroilersSold, which counts birds sold during the year.
  • USDA reports Connecticut by its eight former counties rather than the planning regions in our other county collections, groups Alaska into five areas, and folds most of Virginia's independent cities into neighboring counties. Every other row's CountyFIPS matches the county demographics collection.
  • LandValuePerAcre is the estimated market value of land and buildings per acre. Acres harvested and bushels are for grain; hay includes haylage.
  • In every format, dates are written as yyyy-MM-dd, and yes/no values as true or false. An empty value means nothing was recorded.
