Join wrapped text into one line
Remove line breaks from text copied out of a PDF, email, editor, or document, replacing each break with a space, nothing, or custom text. An optional cleanup setting collapses repeated spaces and tabs after joining, while the preview lets you check that words still fit together.
Line-break cleanup examples
Rejoin a wrapped sentence
Input
A little cleanup. A lot less busywork.
Result
A little cleanup. A lot less busywork.
Choose A space to keep adjacent words separate when joining wrapped lines. This replaces actual newline characters; a line that only wraps visually because an editor is narrow has no break to remove.
Join fragments with no extra characters
Input
ABCD 1234 EFGH
Result
ABCD1234EFGH
Choose Nothing when separate lines are fragments of a single identifier. Existing spaces are retained unless you remove them yourself. Review the joined result carefully before treating it as a code, token, or other exact value.
Replace breaks with a readable separator
Input
red blue green
Result
red / blue / green
Choose Custom text and enter a space, slash, and another space. Custom replacements are inserted literally. For a quoted list, or for cleanup that removes empty values before joining, use the comma separator tool instead.
How to remove newlines
- Paste the text that contains hard line breaks, or open a text file from your device. The input remains available while you review the result.
- Choose A space, Nothing, or Custom text under Replace line breaks with. For sentences, a space usually keeps word boundaries intact.
- Optionally enable Collapse repeated spaces and tabs. Leave it off when indentation or repeated spacing must remain meaningful.
- Copy or download the flattened text. Check paragraph boundaries, punctuation, and any words that were hyphenated across lines before using it elsewhere.
Questions about joining lines
Are Windows and Unix line endings supported?
Yes. Windows CRLF, Unix LF, and older CR line endings are recognized. A CRLF pair is replaced once rather than twice, so choosing a space does not introduce two spaces for that single break.
Will paragraph breaks be preserved?
No. All hard line breaks are replaced, including those separating paragraphs. Two consecutive breaks become two replacement strings. Collapse repeated spaces and tabs can reduce repeated spaces, but it does not identify or restore paragraphs.
Does this remove hyphenation from copied PDFs?
No. A hyphen at the end of a line remains in the text. The tool cannot reliably tell a deliberate hyphen from one added by a document layout, so review those words and correct them yourself.
Does any of the text get uploaded, and how much fits?
The input is processed in your browser without a content upload, ads, or a Data Pass. Text input is limited to 10 MiB. Very large expanded output and long-running operations are stopped, so use smaller sections if a custom replacement makes the result too large.
Formatting this tool cannot reconstruct
This is literal line-break replacement, not PDF extraction or document repair; it cannot infer headings, columns, paragraphs, or missing spaces.
